Metal pallets are one of the common logistics equipment in logistics transportation and storage turnover, and also one of the storage equipment that is frequently used in conjunction with storage shelves. The use of metal pallets makes it more convenient to directly transport goods from storage shelves using forklifts, which not only improves work efficiency but also saves labor costs.

So heavy-duty shelves, through type shelves, shuttle car shelves, etc. need to be combined with their own characteristics, and different materials of pallets should be selected according to different storage needs. The pallets are roughly classified into four types according to their materials: metal, wood, plastic, and new energy materials.

1、 Heavy duty shelves are typical of using metal pallet shelves. This type of shelf typically consists of 1-2 metal pallets placed side by side for storage needs. This type of shelf is also commonly referred to as a pallet shelf. When using metal pallets on heavy-duty shelves, there are some issues to pay attention to. Firstly, it is necessary to determine the position between the metal pallets and have appropriate space to facilitate forklift operation; Secondly, it is necessary to arrange the metal pallets neatly on the crossbeams of the shelves, handle the relationship between the goods and the metal pallets, and avoid safety accidents. The foot of the pallet rack must be equipped with ground expansion screws to ensure the stability of the pallet rack.

2、 As an automated shelving system, shuttle trucks store the pallets placed on them in deep positions. Plastic pallets are the main type of pallet used, similar to through type shelving in terms of storage space. The basic principle of shuttle shelves is that the shelves and movable shuttle cars form a simple unit that can be moved within the warehouse. The shelves with shuttle cars running inside are controlled by a central console at the front end. Forklifts lift shelves (including shuttle trucks) and place them on the center console of the designated shelf. Afterwards, the forklift placed the incoming pallets on the shuttle truck and began the warehousing operation. When the forklift needs to store the next pallet, the shuttle truck will quickly and steadily transport the pallet to the designated storage location inside the shelf.

3、 The use of through type shelves and pallets, through type shelves are experts in using pallets. Due to the fact that through type shelves are continuous shelves that are not separated by channels, the use of pallets is also continuous, which reduces obstacles and greatly improves the storage capacity of goods. In use, pallets can be arranged in both one-way and two-way directions. The total depth of the unidirectional (wall area) shelf is controlled within 6 pallet depths, and the total depth of the bidirectional (middle area can be picked up on both sides) shelf area is controlled within 12 pallet depths to improve the efficiency and reliability of forklift access.
